A multiplayer timing game for phones, laptops and a shared TV. Everyone watches a progress bar fade away, then presses STOP when they think the target time has passed. All stops reveal together. Start with a free practice round, then compete across changing targets with nobody eliminated.
How to play Stop the Clock
Create a private game and share its room link or QR. Choose PLAY or WATCH ONLY; the host can compete or host only. One player must be ready. Only the host starts rounds. Begin with a 5-second practice for no points. Scored targets rise to 20 seconds, then finish with 3: 10 → 20 → 3 for 1–8 players; 10 → 15 → 20 → 3 for 9–24; 8 → 12 → 16 → 20 → 3 for 25–64. Live rooms allow up to 64 player connections. A paired TV takes no player slot. After a three-second countdown, watch the bright marker head toward the checkered finish line. The marker and its trail fade between 40% and 50% of the target time. The track border and finish line stay visible. Imagine the marker continuing at the same speed, then tap or click STOP once when you think it reaches the finish at the target time. Keep the game visible during the attempt. After STOP, your phone immediately shows your frozen dot, exact time and early/late error. Other players and the TV stay blind until everyone finishes. Everyone then reveals together on one timeline with named labels; select crowded groups to see exact times. Closest earns up to 100 points; equal errors share rank and points. Missed attempts score zero. Everyone stays in. Match standings show average error across valid scored stops, with misses listed separately; lower error means greater precision. Most total points wins, with final ties sharing the title. Final standings list players vertically. The host may void/replay a round; its previous points and timing errors are removed. Precision records save your best scored stop.
One player can ready up and start every round. Solo is a tryout: see your answer, accuracy and points without entering multiplayer records. Valid solo accuracy answers earn 100 points; missed or invalid answers earn zero.
