A Taipei night-market tug-of-war for your whole crew. Bubble tea and popcorn chicken take opposite ends of one shared rope. Everyone taps on their own phone or laptop; only the winning team advances, reshuffling into two new teams until one champion remains. Eliminated players become the 加油 cheering section. A host controls the start, next round, overtime and rematch.
How to play Taipei Tug-Off
Create a private game and share its room link or QR, or join a public game. The host chooses PLAY + HOST or HOST ONLY. At least one competitor taps I'M READY; only the host starts.
After a four-second countdown, tap the big button or press Space repeatedly. The opening round lasts 20 seconds; later rounds last 15. Higher average accepted taps per assigned team member at the buzzer wins, so uneven teams are normalized. The rope shows the lead; reaching its edge does not end the round early. Exact ties get a five-second overtime replay with the same teams.
The winning team advances and reshuffles until one champion remains. The host starts every next round. Eliminated players and late arrivals can cheer without affecting the rope. Disconnected players keep their place in the team's divisor for that round; the host may continue with connected survivors afterward. Inputs are limited to 15 taps/second with a small burst allowance; final taps get 0.5 seconds to arrive, but taps made after the buzzer do not count.
Play on phones or laptops. A paired TV displays the action without taking a player slot. Live rooms allow up to 64 player connections.
Play alone against a labelled computer pulling at 5 taps per second. Solo scores are not posted to the multiplayer records board.
